How about a Local Filmmaker's Event? Submissions could be solicited and fielded through BrigitFest.

rough outline of things to plan for:


1: screen and aquire films:
either by that link you posted, or put out a call for local fims

could have a short film day and or another time for features length

2: have to figure out when to show, and how much lead time to to this,
how much time to get the films, enough time to PR/market the event etc..

I'd be willing to help. I also have two DVDs of my own work I'd like to submit for consideration. Does anyone else know anyone personally, or friends-of-friends whose work could be featured? Should this event, if it ever happens, be a first friday night or some other night?

Some things to think about:

A judging committee will have to be formed to decide which films to show.

Should the committee consist of only Eclectic Company People or should people who show up at first fridays be invited to judging screenings? Or would it be better if committee members screen the submissions on their own time?

Would this be a one-night event or an ongoing series?

Should there be an "audience award"?
