I just watched Driving Force for the first time on AE. It was the episode where John’s daughter tells him that she may be interested in becoming a teacher.
I was just shocked at how much of an ass you are, John. When you watch these episodes back, don’t you feel ashamed of yourself in the way that you talk to your daughters? I wouldn’t talk to my worst enemy the way that you talk to your family.
Your poor children. Why can’t you be a decent father and talk to them with respect and love? You just sit there and rag on your entire family if they say the slightest thing that you don’t want to hear.
One thing about watching this show: It makes me appreciate the parents that I have. My parents would never treat me the way you treat your family, John. I cannot believe you made your beautiful daughter cry because she told you SHE WANTED TO BE A TEACHER! Most fathers would be glowing and proud of their child for wanting to have such a noble career. And you bash your daughter for that? Give me a break.
I hope your car accident has changed your attitude about your family and what is really important in life. You only have one family, John. Treat them with respect and love. Not disdain, disgust and disappointment. Most fathers would be proud to have such intelligent, beautiful children. You take it for granted and lash out at them as if they were dirt.
Shame on you. Get a life. Take some parenting classes for God’s sake.

John, I commend you on being the man that you are and not letting anyone’s opinion stand in the way of that. If this person had watched a few other episodes, then she’d have realized what a hard-working, genuine man you really are. In so many ways, you remind me of my own dad. He’s always been one to speak his mine, whether you liked what he had to say or not. Some people may have called him an asshole because of that, but many more gave him great respect because of it. I suspect that the same is probably true with you. Your show difines what family’s today are all about. You have your problems just like every one does, but you don’t hide that from the cameras. I appreciate that! I am a great fan of yours, your family’s, and your show. Some people just can’t handle a true american family.

If the person had watched ALL of that particular show they would have seen how you embraced Courtney and you did apologize to her. I do hope this person reads this because I can tell you that even more than racing I notice that you talk most about your girls and how proud you are of them in WHATEVER THEY CHOOSE TO DO. Oh and as I recall in that scene of the show John did not "put her down and make her cry" for wanting to be a teacher.....He was shocked because no one had shared with him that that was what she wanted to do as a career....I think folks need to get their facts straight before they go off making insaine and ignorant comments like the 27 yr old young man did. When you see John Force-you see the epitamy of a CHAMPION and the CAPTAIN OF TEAM DADDY! Oh and by the way it was Ashley that cried in that scene not Courtney. Just the FACTS.
Any child would be fortunate to have John Force as a Daddy. But in saying that I know that I have best Daddy in the entire world. He is quite alot like John. They are both "Old School" I think in the Daddy department. You don’t raise your voice to your father-you will definately hear about it! And in the Bible God wrote to "Honor your Mother & Father..." Enough said!
Love Ya Lots John & the fam!!!

I watch the show BECAUSE John’s such a good dad. People (particularly this 27 year old man) could learn a lot about being a good parent from both John & Laurie. Especially when John told Ashley to stop reading the internet because of all the negative and mean comments people can make! Not all father’s would be as supportive as John regarding their daughter’s being race car drivers, or any other male dominated field. He’s not just encouraging them in the family business, he’s encouraging them to be role models for females. There isn’t anything John thinks his girls CAN’T do, obviously.

I’ve watched several episodes of this show and every time it is a train wreck.
I’ve been around a lot of Hollywood types, and John is the most self-centered, egotistical maniac I’ve ever seen... hands down. He thinks his family owes him, he’s always high stress and taking it out on his family, yelling at them... come on. There is no reason for this sort of behavior... belittling his children, berating his wife... I HARDLY see his wife smile... he tells his adult girls what to do and how to do it and they just stare at him blankly. Oh yeah, that’s real interaction there....
His daughters are doomed to find men that abuse them verbally or otherwise because that is precisely what they have been raised with. Good job, John.
John’s verbal assassinations are downright abusive. He’s an embarassment and I cannot believe this show is still on television. He is a very poor example of a parent...
And you know dang well that if he wasn’t bringing in the big money Laurie would not be with him. She’s well educated and doesn’t deserve that crap. Well, no one does, really.
The sad reality of it all, is that he’s almost 60 years old, he’s not going to change. He’s been a controlling jerk his whole life and if he hasn’t learned the err of his ways by now he isn’t going to. I predict a car crash or a massive heart attack....
Thing is... you can be successful... and number one... without acting the way he does to his family and staff. Period.
Shove some Lexapro or a lude in his piehole. Duct tape his mouth. Something.. just calm his ass down.
Geez.

kind of sad you watch it for the first time after its been off the air for well over a year.and i do think john is being the best father he can be.he is the father of four daughters.he does his damnest to take care of them.and now with ashley all grown up and married he only has two to look after.i think its you who should be ashamed to say that to a man that has been thru so much in his life.i can relate to john in his childhood.we both had the same stuff.and i still go thru it.dont talk shit unless you halfway know the person.

Hey John
How are you are you nice and cool today?????
My husband and I were at your Trailer on Aug 22nd at Maple Grove. We have all your cars and he wanted to get his Grinch car signed by you.
we stood outside for about an hr 1/2
Ashley was out signing, Robert was out signing and so was Mike.
you know how hot it was that day. they had people coming around with beer
why not water or lemonade. We do not drink alchol.
I finally left to go find something for us to drink because my husband would not leave. he is a very die hard fan of your and wanted to meet you and get your autograph. WELL when I got back I found him in the hospitality suite across the way he ended up Passing out in front of your trailer waiting for you to come out.
So please thank Ashley, Robert and Mike for being there for their die hard fans

I HOPE you never have children!!!!! Yeah theres a real shortage of teachers in this country!!! DUH !!! How many people get even close to a chance to go racing, much less have a open door and blank check!!! To thumb a nose at that kind of oppertunity would be huge mistake!!! Ask her now if shed rather be locked in a stuffy classroom in front of a class of Ridlan doped children!!!
