How are they going to change the plot like this.
The book is way different than the movie.

I totally agree.
But you have to remember that most people have never read the book and most people never will.
Also that there’s no way any major motion picture company would approve of a movie where the villain is the protagonist.
Especially if he didn’t turn into some sort of hero by the end.
And you have to think of all the potential law suits from the comic book compaines that would be nearly impossible to avoid.
For example when Mister Rictus had Batman and Robin dangling over the octopus.
The movie is "based on" the book.
Which means some pencil-pusher took all of the publically acceptable ideas out of it, put a spin on it, and turned it into some one hit wonder movie.
I hate to say it but Miller sold out when he let them make this movie.

I think Miller could have been pressured. This sounds like someone took the basic idea of wanted, and completely twisted it around. I personally am quite appalled, and believe that the original could have easily been done (given the new power the comic-to-movie industry has gotten with Iron Man being 9th top grossing of all time) with a decent budget and CGI.
In fact, I thought the original Wes looked a little closer to Marshall Mathers than this guy. And certainly not Angelina Jolie, I was thinking more of a younger Holly Berry.
And I absolutely LOVE Morgan Freeman, but given the character and the original storyline, I much prefered the crazy little white haired scientist that was phenomenally genius.
But you can’t expect anyone in this day and age to produce a movie of that stature and not think that it’s all serious and evil and can’t be made.
When in reality that scene with Richter, they never actually tell you who they are, just famous superheroes from the days of old, who have had their memories erased and actually don’t even know why they’ve been kidnapped, blindfolded, and are now dangling over a pit of robo-sharks.
I don’t know, I think any smart person would know how to make that movie and not get sued for copyright (assuming they have the rights to the original characters in the story).

Didn’t read the book yet but I will be looking for it. The movie is good. Some things really mess with the flow of it. That reverse slow motion didn’t work for me. The keyboard stunt lost it in slow mo for me. The soundtrack, I really usually love Danny’s work but though it didn’t completely suck, it needed some better songs. More impact would have helped it a lot.
That aside, Angelina, the transformed James and Morgan in black leather, all very good. Shoot the editor but many of those special effects were over the top. It will be a awhile before I want to be around a stapler again. Luckily, my desk job wasn’t bad and my best friend is still awesome. Perhaps I was lucky? Can’t say there wasn’t ever anyone I didn’t want to use my laptop on though, so it wasn’t all bad.
Good Wesley?-blah Bad Wesley?-much improved! Though Fox should have so taken that dumb bimbo out. Now that’s entertainment.
