Sorry I’m Late. Awful Game. ATL Is Just Visibly A Bad Matchup For Us. Also, Chauncey’s Jumper Is Off. I Can See Some Hitch, Like He’s Leaning Too Much.

Really our offense the last two games, have really been only melo and billups.

When JR comes back, we’ll have our 3rd consistent scorer.

it dont help that KMart is hurt ....

I blame Billups. He’s taking bad shots and not getting Melo the ball where and when he needs it. He hasn’t been himself.

In some of the previous games (like Miami) you’re right about Billups. Against the Hawks the problem is that the game was only about Chauncey and Melo, and nobody else was involved. We got no production from the two guys inserted into the starting lineup.

Overall our shooting percentage was low - esp beyond the arc. And we only had 18 assists compared to Atlanta’s 30. They had 6 players with more than 2 assists. We only had 2 players do that. So we’re not sharing the basketball - but it goes way beyond Billups.

We also don’t have anyone running the wings to spread the floor. An LK-style player wouldn’t be bad in that role. JR would be a plus - obviously. We missed Kenyon on D. Strike that - we missed everyone on D!

We’ve really lacked any rhythm as a team since the 3rd game.

Billups had a nice second half to this game but the last 6 quarters of basketball he has played have been bad. I think he is forcing his offense a little too much (not that I really blame him right now) but I think once JR gets back and Chauncey moves over to point guard, his focus will go back to pass first - shoot second.

We faced a good Hawks team that was shooting really well and is hard to matchup with. We came off a bad loss and 16 hours or rest. I pretty much knew from the tip off that we were gonna lose this game.

Take the loss and move on with Chicago. 5-2 without JR is fine with me. Once we get Kenyon back our defense and rebounding will improve as well.
