I thank the Creator for He has done a beautiful work of art on me. I know what and who I am in Him, for He holds my true identity. I have no complaints, nor will I make up lame excuses as to why I am not willing to be what I am. I will not pretend to be something or someone I am not, simply, because I am very proud of what I am and confident at that. I am what I am, and I will always remain true to myself. Racial slurs and negative comments, concerning a "Colored Woman" will always exist. No matter what you do or say, it won’t stop how some think and feel. People with that kind of mentality only shows their stupidity and lack of character. I can yet smile, and be happy, even through criticism, because I know and understand that I was not created and set upon this earth to be somewhat controlled, and manipulated into believing the misconception of what "True Black Beauty" is. It was a lie when we were told we had to come up with a solution to straigthen our hair in order to look like civilized individuals! It was a lie when they told us we needed to rub on the make-up, wear fake nails and put on the horsemen’s hair to look beautiful! It was a lie when they said, we had to lose soo much weight til we nearly look like a skeleton in order to feel and look sexy! Society don’t define me. I am comfortable in my own skin. Are you comfortable in yours???
