in one of my books "The Witches Magical Handbook" it mentions charging something but it never explains how...the most i was able to gather is charging by putting it in the sun to charge by the Sun’s energies...is there other ways of charging something? Many thanks and Blessed Be )O(

There are many ways to charge and/or cleanse something.
cleansing -you can let it soak in sea salted water, run through white sage smoke, over a white candle flame, setting in a running natural stream-creek, some simply hold the item- cleansing/charging it with their own energies, bathe in the sun, overnight by the moon, I’ve heard of some burying it in the earth, you can include an cleansed item in a ritual, and more.
sometimes it depends on the item, some stones and metals should not soak in salt water, etc...also can depend on what your intent is for the item....sometimes the moon is more appropriate than the sun.

many thanks sister, cause some of the potions in one of the books i own says to charge the potion and elixer and i never knew what they meant by it cause they never explained it... so when you charge it with daylight do you have to do it by moonlight as well to get both energies or you can if you want to?

Putting oils in the sun can damage the essence of the oil, so I wouldn’t use that as an option for oils. Daylight can negate the energies of the Moon, and vice versa, so I wouldn’t do both. Crystal balls should never be charged in the Sun because that can destroy their ability to convey messages. If I was cleansing an object I would put it in Sunlight, and if I was charging/empowering an object I would put it in Moonlight. I mostly use my own energy to charge objects, because it makes the charging more personal to me, then maybe for some added power I will put it in the light of the full Moon. When I charge I think about the purpose I am charging the object for, like for Protection I would imagine curses and negativity bouncing off the object.

I am not sure about the witch hazel the herbs can be charged in the sun. I would think that you charging in the moon light would be better. Really because you are getting both the sun and moon light though the moon if you really think about it.
