Amazing, Beautiful, High Performance setup.I really really love your setup man.Just purely fantastic.I can see that you also have the case I plan on putting in my corei7 setup(cooler-master HAF 932 case).I also like the coolermaster CPU cooler. And OH My God man you even got the best overclocking high performance gaming mainboard out there for the x58 chipset socket 1366 the Asus RampageII Extreme mobo(I am so ecstatic right now watching your setup. You also have the Thermaltake 1200W PSU.That is one expensive setup you got there.I know the corei7 975 is US$1000.00+.One thing I found peculiar about your description. You said bus speed but Corei7 operates by QPI(Quick Path Interconnect), so you should have a QPI of 6.4gt/s, I do not understand.Could you explain further?
Man you got a beautiful, fantastic, efficent, state of the art piece of technology there.I was thinking of the very same parts for my setup except for the mainboard, I opted the Asus p6t deluxe v2 mobo and corsair Xms memory for the corei7 920 cpu but i have changed my mind on the case.the only reason I changed my mind bout the case was because the Coolermaster HAF 932 has no dust filters, so I am now thinking of the Antec 1200 case but then again though the Antec 1200 case has alot of fans and dust filters throughout the side fan is very small compared to that of Coolermaster HAF 932.Again man I really really love your setup.I just need you to explain this bus speed thing to me.Thanks for the demonstration.Keep up the amazing work.

You are right about the Quick Path Interconnect ! you can oc from just upping the ram to 2000mhz , however all that deose is heat up the cpu.. After a week of hell and 3 hrs on the phone with asus, and patriot. I have found the answers I was looking for. leave all ram settings to auto witch should be 1.45 cv and 1344 mgz x3, leaving me with a so called qpi/bus of 4032mhz. And cpu at 4299.4 mhz, to achieve this i set the cpu ratio setting to auto witch is 26x, and set the bclk frequency to 165. And using a qpi link data rate of 7940mt’s (leaving the cpu ratio setting to auto witch is 26x, gives me the option to use speed step and turbo mode) how ever cpuid tells me that the qpi link is 3968.9 mhz. 44c no load! and after a week more of tweeking fond that leaving the cpu set to oc at 3.7mhz will with turbo mode and speed step on get me maxed out! The cpu at this point will run 4.1mgz and a so called buss of 1266 x3 and a qpi rate of about 7000mts. and 41c at no load. The thing that gets me is that the qpi link speed also controls how fast all the components communicate as a whole, I was told ramping up the qpi over clocks the north and south bridge chips? basicly its like oc the mobo buss! Witch i found to have some pretty good speed bumps. There are many different was to oc this 976 i7, intel says you wont get any more than 1066 x3 so go figure. I do know you dont want to use more than 1.65 max volt when jacking the ram, this will only fry your cpu! I have tried many differnt dram v settings and found that mine works best at 1.48 v when set to 1266mhz tripple! Anything more than that just cases the cpu to run hot! you can check out some of these sites to help you translate whats best for you.. http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=37153&processor=i7-975&spec-codes=SLBEQ - http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/cpu/display/core-i7-975xe_5.htmlsect0 - http://hothardware.com/Articles/Intel-Core-i7-975-Extreme-Edition-Processor-Review/ - and this on is the best all about high end ram and how you only need 1333 mhz ddr3 tripple.. http://www.legitreviews.com/article/842/1/
