Hi I’m writing because you are on my friend list. I’m a fellow natural head with the interest of styling natural hair. I see in the state of Texas we can only receive a braider’s license unless we go through cosmetology school. I say that a Natural hair stylist needs a Natural Hair Care License not a braiding license. I think it’s a shame we have no say in our hair care industry as a whole. Let’s take back our hair little at a time. I’m asking all fellow Texas Natural heads in support to write the state and say no more! We deserve our own licensing just as cosmetologist and barbers. Or if you’re interested in helping us take a stand, you can email the state your concern and say Natural Hair Stylist need a License. We can barely do anything with a braiding license, we can’t even wash hair! And a cosmetology school doesn’t teach us anything about caring for natural hair. It’s like we have to choose one extreme to another.
