A friend of mines’ little boy was just diagnosed with a WHEAT allergy (they took him to get tested because he kept getting sick after eating). What kind of bread is there out there for him to eat? We can’t find any in our local stores. What brands have you all found that is ’safe’ for a Wheat allergy? Any & ALL suggestions are greatly appreciated. You can also email me at: lilkaisue@yahoo.com Thank you.

I use rice based breads, but the best ones are mixed with other types of flour, like potato and tapioca flour to give it a good consistency. I really like Kinnikinnick brand foods, and Glutino brand for breads, and Ener-G has some good ones (Light Tapioca supposedly has the best consistency for sandwiches.)
Most of the time I have to go to Organic stores to find wheat-free supplies, although there are websites out there where you can order them too (once you find one you like.) The Walmart around here just started carrying a small section of wheat-free foods, but the organic food stores seem to have more variety. There are also bread mixes that I use sometimes to make home-made bread. Some of them are quite good, but I’ve found different brands depending on where you’re located.

Hi! We use Ener-G bread. We also use the Ener-G hamburger buns as well. We have to completely avoid all gluten and wheat and we’ve never had a problem with Ener-G. Hope this help ya. Please let me know if you need anything. I’d be more than happy to help ya out in any way I can. Take care!
