It’s been said that where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. But, what do we do when the treasures that the world around us values are found to be spurious...not genuine, fake? It means that we are spending our lives hunting for the x that marks our own grave. I, for one, am tired of wasting my time. What is the world’s treasure? It seems, today, the world’s treasure is nothing more or less than...Prestige. Esteem. Celebrity. Can I really find all the peace my soul craves by simply impressing people.

No. Way.

Peace is only found through love. And true love is only found in one source.

And that love is the opposite of the selfish, self-serving, fortune that earth offers.

Are Prestige, Esteem, and Celebrity terrible things? If they are the end goal, then yes, you life was wasted gethering things that end as you draw your final breath. If they are a means to an end, or even a by-product of a set course, then they take on an almost noble charcter. Unfortunatly this rarely happens, or our weak wills are overcome when we have attain such things. The celebrity we hoped to gain to spread a message of hope or love or whatever overcomes us and we spread whatever message will get us more and more of this drug called fame. You and I rarely seem to have time to sit down and have a proper conversation, so I don’t know how you see things, but too many people see celebrity as the ultimate evil, when its really only a product of your own actions. I know people who claim they would become their own ruin to avoid their 15 minutes of fame rather than use those precious few minutes to accomplish something that may even last an hour...I hope I didn’t miss the point of what you are trying to say, I’m just throwing in my two cents.

I’ve been thinking about this lately. There is only one Treasure that lasts...

The way i see it, I dont think that prestige, esteem, and celebrity, have to be a terrible thing. The determining factor lies in the motive. If someone isn’t concerned with the quality of the fruits of their labor, then why shouldn’t they enjoy they’re fruits none the less? If one comes across these things as a result of their commitment to a greater good or a higher cause, then why should they deny these in the name of some false humility or a sense of feeling ill motivated or any other wrong feeling. Point being, those things dont have to be terrible things contingent on the motives of recieving them.
