Ways To Help Save The Wolves

Save The Wolves! Don’t let them be exterminated again! Stop the proposed genocide on these beautiful creatures of God! Stop the redelisting of the wolves from The Endangered Species List for another slaughter!

If wolf lovers fight hard enough, we will ensure the survival of wolves forever!

The Obama Administration is going along with the The Bush Administration’s plan to delist the wolves from The Endangered Species List for mass slaughter and extermination scheme. The same inhumane wolf delisting from The Endangered Species List that could lead to a massive wolf slaughter which allows the killing of all but 300 wolves for the entire Yellowstone and Northern Rockies Area. That is an endangered number to begin with, and numbers like that, along with the hostility toward wolves in the area, could lead to a total extinction of wolves from the Yellowstone and Northern Rockies area just like in the 1930s all over again! Not to mention, the states of Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana, still want to use the same cruel and inhumane treatment toward wolves that they wanted when The Bush Administration delisted them in 2008 before it was overturned by an injunction in The Federal Court.

When the wolves were delisted in late March of 2008, the states of Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana, had shoot on site policies toward wolves if they were seen anywhere outside of the boundaries of The National Parks and Refuges. These policies have proven that they will ultimately lead to a year round slaughter because wolves, like other wildlife, often travel outside of the boundaries of The National Parks and Refuges and no other wildlife are subject to this hostile shoot on site policy except for the wolves. The states also want massive scale hunting seasons on the small population of 1,500 wolves on top of the year round shoot on site policies.

After this cruel and hideous delisting scheme went into effect in late March of 2008, over 100 wolves were killed between then and mid July when the delisting was overturned by an injunction in The Federal Court after 12 groups dedicated to animal rights, wildlife protection, and environmental protection, filed a lawsuit to fight to overturn the wolf delisting completely.

In September 2008, The Bush Administration made like they were going to back down and avoid the fight in court and keep the wolves listed as an endangered and protected species, only to announce a month later that they were going to delist the wolves again!

Five days before The Bush Administration left office, they finalized the wolf delisting yet again! Two days after taking office, The Obama Administration halted the wolf delisting before it could take effect only to go along with it! So much for change.

I just hope and pray that The the wolf delisting will be completely overturned in the courts. The wolves must stay protected! The groups that were fighting to save the wolves in The Federal Court last time have already filed another lawsuit against The U.S Fish And Wildlife Service to get the protections for the wolves restored again. Apart from that, here are a few things we can do to help save the wolves:

1.Boycott beef until the wolves are left alone and cattle ranchers work on non leathal alternatives to dealing with wolves and cattle ranchers who do use non leathal methods on dealing with wolves, market their beef with a wolf friendly and/or predator friendly label, and make beef products with wolf friendly and/or predator friendly labels more available to the public. (If boycotting tuna worked to help save dolphins, boycotting beef can work to help save wolves).

2.Boycott tourism to the states of Alaska, Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho, aswell as any state or even any country, which has inhumane policies toward wolves, until these states or countries come up with more humane laws pertaining to the wolves living in these states or countries.

3.Support and show support for the enviromental, animal rights, and wildlife groups that are fighting to save wolves.

4.Write to, email, or call elected officials telling them to end the killing of wolves and maybe even tell them to put an end to any kind of sport trapping and trophy hunting of wildlife aswell.

5.Hold public demonstrations and protests.

Hopefully with the collective efforts of people who love wolves and care about our wildlife and the environment, along with the environmental, animal rights, and wildlife groups fighting for the wolves, the wolves will be saved.
