I just finished it ... Can this woman write or what? It took me 5 hours and I was trying to slow down, I could not do it. Curious to hear what others think; Me, I’m on to Santa Olivia next, but can’t wait for the next book in the Naamahs Kiss series. She(Jacqueline) just keeps getting better and she was fantastic from the 1st.

I’m in the process of reading it right now...less then 100 pages left. I’ll be done with it tonight, I don’t want it to end, I think it’s perfect, I really do. You know, I don’t feel this way about most books anymore, and I’m an avid reader, but Kushiel’s Legacy and now Naamah’s bring me so much joy to read it’s almost heartbreaking. I want the next book....*sigh*....every year brings a new year of waiting.

I finished reading it a couple of weeks ago or so.

It was a good book, but there were some rocky pieces where it seemed it took Carey a little while to get into the swing of writing from Moirin’s point of view.

Phedre is still my favorite heroine in the Terre d’Ange books that Carey has put out. Moirin just ... Lacks that spark that Phedre had, for me anyway. I identify with Moirin, yes, but not nearly as much as I did Phedre.

I do miss the political intrigue and the twists and turns of court life, but it was interesting to see a brief taste of court life from an outsider’s eyes. A couple of pieces were pretty easy to call and, unlike Josecelin, I did not find myself ’falling’ for Bo until some time later in the book. That could just be my oddity, though.

Perhaps the next book will delve deeper into the culture, maybe introduce more cultures, and perhaps we’ll get some intrigue back on the table!

Don’t get me wrong, I did enjoy Naamah’s Kiss. I will be reading the next book and pretty much anything else Carey puts out in this particular series.

I can see where reader would feel that the qualiy has dropped but I guess I just look at each triolgy as completely different...I just don’t compare them to eachother, the characters are too different IMO.

I think my biggest problem with NK is that I don’t really like Bo...I mean he’s a cool dude, but not like Joscelin.

That’s a really great way to look at it, viewing each book as something different. But I was just so used to Carey’s style in the Phedre trilogy and the Imriel trilogy.

I agree about Bo though. I like him, I don’t want to see him killed off or anything like that, but I do like Joscelin better. Maybe he’ll grow on me more through out the series.

Anyone else feel that way?
