I understand that Sen. Jon Tester (MT), Sen. Jim Webb (VA) and Sen. Claire McCaskill (MO) all three have many libertarian positions. Gov. Sweitzer (sp) of Montana is said to be somewhat libertarian.

We know about former officials like Sen. Mike Gravel (AK), US Rep. Tim Penney (MN) and Gov. Tony Knowles (AK) all having libertarian reputations.

How are we to know what Democrats think as we do? Is there anyone rating Democratic senators, congressmen and state legislators? If there isn’t, there ought to be.

Maybe the Libertarian Democratic Caucus can team with the Democratic Freedom Caucus and other scattered Jeffersonian Democratic groups to start a freedom-oriented Democratic think-tank.

Our northeast Kansas Member of Congress, Rep. Nancy Boyda, sounded libertarian on a lot of issues, but she narrowly lost her race for reelection in November. This district, and most of Kansas, is pretty Republican. I sincerely hope we have not heard the last of Boyda.

Gov. Bill Richardson has a lot of libertarian positions and was endorsed by the Democratic Freedom Caucus for president last year.
