Since 1995 , Gerrit Thomas,Jens Kästel and Björn Böttcher-Funker Vogt , has echoed like a " steamhammer " while leading the worldwide community of Elektro-Industrial Body Beat enthusiasts .The name "Funker Vogt " comes from a friend of the band, a radio operator , who actually served in the German Federal Armed Forces. The name serves to illustrate the thematic explorations of the band - the military warrior experience and the dark realities of warfare .
Compared with bands like Frontline Assembly, Wumpscut or Leather Strip , they represent an aggressive electronic style which is based upon old EBM strategies, mixed with more modern Electronic and Industrial elements. They utilize their distinctive mixture of a strong sense of melody within powerful rhythms , emphatic electronic dance beats , aggressive lyrics and tuneful/hymnal refrains , continually show that their name and signature sound stands by itself.
Funker Vogt has solidified their reputation as a "War Machine" that takes no prisoners and destroying dancefloors with their hard hitting dance floor anthems at numerous live performances invading Spain, Portugal, Russia, Poland, Denmark, France, Belgium, Holland, Italy, South Africa, Israel, England, South-, Middle-,and North America .
