Sales of bee supples have picked up dramatically lately. Beekeepers are getting ready for Spring. They are building boxes and getting them painted as well as nailing frames. We have had several warm days when you could open lids and check on the condition of bees. It seems to have been a relatively mild Winter here and losses are lighter than some years in the past. There seems to be enought feed to last for a while in the brood chamber. We will want to start feeding a little syrup soon to stimulate egg laying. Nothing gets a queen in gear like a nectar flow, but syrup seems to be close enough to get things going. Remember, you need your bees ready for the Spring dandilion flow buildup.
