I was womdering if anybody would post up some prices for G&L instruments you happen to see at your local shops. I’m primarily interested in basses, but for the sake of conversation, anything will do.

I live in Austin, TX ("The Live Music Capital of the World" Whoop-de-do) and what I see here is quite expensive. There’s a ’85ish L1000 at my favorite store here for $999, and it’s not really in that great of shape.

Anyway, this may seem a bit silly, but people who love these instruments know when they see a steal... or a rip-off.

I’m really only asking so that I can locate the county with the best deals and, you know, loot and pillage.

PostScript: My SB-1 is simply stunning. It begs for attention. It’s the finest, simplest, most playable bass I have ever laid hands on. I will *never* play anything but G&L in my lifetime.
