OK, here’s some more things we are doing...a Kings Court bit...last year Lazloe appointed Willow the Sheriff to take over for Robert Longarm after he got promoted...I believe as funny as that would be , it would’nt be happening, a challenger for the position should come forth and after much debate and a contest of some sort...a new sheriff imerges....
At opening Gate the Mummers play that was prepared for First Night will be performed...I think I will be able to hear the Green Man part that Virgil was going to play....without crying by then...
The Chess Match will be between Anne Boleyn and Queen Catherine....cat fight

I want a Queen because of the friction...Catherine and Henry are still together at this time and Anne is just introduced to court as a Lady in Waiting...Thomas(the pimp) Boleyn was promoting her...Henry is interested, Catherine is annoyed and Anne is unwilling because he is for all practical purposes he is unavailable...Catherine will be accompanied by her Spanish Ambassidor...and her Lady in Waiting...Wolsey is concerned but...an heir....?

Whew! We’re just asking for a fight out there, aren’t we? I really like Brenna’s idea. I think the more we can get the patrons involved, the better. Sure there will be those that perfre to stay back and just observe, but I think we may find better success if drag as many patrons INTO the action as possible.

WOW, it looks like we have a lot of very good and creative ideas for this season. I think Brenna’s idea is fantastic and I would love to see us run with it. Granted, it will take some real work to pull off, but I think it would be well worth it. I also think the idea of introducing "camping" (an early form of football) is ingenious and would love to take part in that if possible. The idea of having the chess match be between Anne Boleyn and Queen Katherine is one of the best ideas I have heard. That will definitely make for a great show and I would love to see how catty Anne can get (since Katherine is NOT the type to get catty in public but rather be rather proper and above Anne).

Now, I would like to make a correction to some info above. In 1527, Anne is not just now being introduced to court....she would have been a part of court for about 3-4 years now and there would already be talk of Henry wanting a divorce from Katherine. Also, Rome has just been sacked by the soldiers of Charles V (Katherine’s nephew) and has virtually imprisoned Pope Clement VII to keep him from granted the divorce. Cardinal Wolsey leaves for Rome in the early summer of 1527 to meet with the powers that now be and to get a basic direction that Rome will be taking on Henry’s divorce. That will eventually lead to Wolsey’s down fall as he will spend the rest of his time in the English court delaying announcing for as long as possible a loyalty to the State over the Church, infuriating Henry and Anne.
