We can talk about "Celtic Pride" all we want. The fact is that the advancement of we Celtic people in America will never come until we are recognized as an official race. This means official government recognition to include subheading on all government forms and documents (i.e. - census). In fact, when we fill out the forms for the next census, we should all check the "other" box and write in "Celtic" after it.

We are a distinct race, though lines have blurred over the centuries. Celts have our own language group, our own distinct cultures, food, celebrations and religion. What other race on earth consistently produces children with red hair? How about freckles? We even have a Celtic disease, like people of African descent have sickle cell anemia, Celts have spina bifida. Occurrences of SB are far more common in people of Celtic ancestry than any other ethnic group. Some sources even call it "The Celtic Disease."

We should be recognized in the United States as our own race.

None of my ancestors came from the Caucus Mountains, and yet I am continually called "Caucasian." This offends me and it should offend you and all Celts. No one cares if we’re offended. We’re not an official minority. You are only allowed to be offended in America if you belong to an official minority. But then, if we were to be officially classified as the Celtic Race, maybe we might have somewhat of a minority. Or at least the perception of being one.

There should be a Celtic Heritage month in America.

Race isn’t all about skin color. It’s about descent from a common stock with common characteristics.

Lets band together and somehow get the government to recognize "Celtic" as a race all our own.
