Well to answer the sick man: I don’t need answers; I don’t need certainty. No one can provide them.

If man is capable or rape or murder, he is capable of lying and deceit - even for good reasons such as the establishment of the Biblical Mosaic Law (the 10 Commandments).

So perhaps Moses and Aaron lied for a just cause and made stone tablets for social control.

But I believe muderers and rapists who get away with their crimes on earth will NEVER actually be punished for their acts (unless they punish themselves out of guilt). Uncomfortable with that? Take martial arts self defense classes and buy a gun (it’s fun and you meet good people you learn to trust and train with).

But when someone does things over and over again (good things too), they become tradition (like religion) and people get all superstitious about breaking any pattern that led to good results.

I don’t hate religion, but tire of prostelityzing. I think I actually believe in God, if only to have hope. I attend church regularly, too - maybe to "fornicate" over the women or the girl I go to church with.

I’m human and so are you (who are reading this and think you’re so perfect or self-righteous - or at least moreso than me). Well Jesus said not to judge others.
And Jesus was a great man. I don’t know that a human - for that was what he was probably, could die for all other human sin, but being human is not a sin. We are what we are.

And we are capable of thinking. I think raping and murdering is not the way to create a safe and progressive civilization. I don’t need a fear of God not to do it. However, I don’t need to be superstitiously suppressed sexually so I have to wreck my life by marrying just to relieve my sexual urges. And since I’m not a murderer, all religion directs towards me is sexual repression. Well I’m not going for it. Church is a great place to meet decent girls, away from binge drinking and drugs. But so far as yet, I don’t think the price of sex is worth a diamond ring. It never will be (and I inherited plenty of money - I just don’t intend to share all of it for sex. If you have to pay for it, it should only be a pittance of cash, not a lifelong commitment.)

But for social order and stability, people will invent a fear of hell and whatever happens when you die. THE REAL TRUTH is we don’t know and I don’t need someone else’s fantasy. I’m not afraid - and with my medical issues, I’m probably closer to death than any one of you reading this.
