Yesterday, October 16th, 2008 I submitted to Sustainable Communities All Over the Puget Sound (SCALLOPS) a proposal for a bioregional social networking website. If SCALLOPS chooses to adopt our program, a lot of work will need to be done, most important of which will be building the network. Yes, I know all of you are beholden to MySpace, and are reluctant to join another social networking website, but the Cascadia Commons version is membership-owned, supports local economy, and is a friendly-society, which means you could earn dividends from net earnings. Also, Cascadia Commons is seeking to develop an alliance of land trusts, so know that by supporting this new social networking site, you are also protecting resources for future generations.
