"ever hear of reverse racism? ive never been nothing but nice and helpful to everyone, despite race, and at least half of the black people that ride the ..4 bus would push me, cut in front of me, and refuse to let me down the isle of the bus. around here there is more of a problem where "stupid uptight white people" are afraid to even say anything back like "excuse me, please move" because of the way we are looked at and treated."
This was in response to something a few of us wrote on another board. And sense I've read it, all I can think about is......what the hell is reverse racism?
A racist is a racist is a racist right? So how can there be reverse racism? I wrote in response that no race is inferior to the other and shouldnt look up to its superior. I just don't understand the audacity of some people. I was going to tell the chick to cry me a river and go drown herself in it because sooooooooooo many black people have been soooooooooooo mean to her, but I didn't want to be a complete bitch. Maybe next time though.

Well Racism =
1 : a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race or : racial prejudice or discrimination.
2 : discriminatory or abusive behavior towards members of another race.
3 : Racism refers to beliefs and practices: (1) that assume inherent and significant differences exist between the genetics of various groups of human beings; (2) that assume these differences can be measured on a scale of "superior" to "inferior"; and (3) that result in the social, political and economic advantage of one group in relation to others.
4 : The following discussion identifies racism at the level of individual prejudice, social practice, and institutional structure, depending on the viewpoint of the contributor.
5: In general the racist's own race is considered the most valuable and others less valuable.
6 : Institutional racism or structural racial discrimination -- racial discrimination by governments, corporations, or other large organizations with the power to influence the lives of many individuals.
So i take it reverse racism would be reversing the racism directed toward you.

Reverse discrimination (sometimes called "reverse racism") is, in its simplest form, the practice of favoring members of a historically disadvantaged group at the expense of members of a historically advantaged group.

Reverse racism is somewhat an inaccurate term, the more accurate thing to say is reverse discrimination. This usually happens when a legal policy (it can happen socially as well) inadvertently causes discrimination to one ethnicity (Caucasians usually) in the protection or legal defense of a minority. A good example would be: Sonia Sotomayor’s ruling in the Connecticut firefighters case. In that case White Firefighter’s were denied promotions because no minorities were able to pass the captain’ test.

Reverse racism is a misnomer; if you act with prejudice toward another racial group (including cuacasians) then you are being racist.

oxymoron is what that is. Racism is an act of hate ANY race whatsoever. Its the ignorant people who won’t let American slavery stay in the past like its supposed to be; they’re the ones who make stupid terms and words like that.

Exactly, anyone that bases their opinion of others on what color they are. It doesn’t matter if the person doing it is white or black. It is plain and simple racism.

Affirmative action was an idea with good intentions that went horribly wrong.

In Sotomayor’s defense, she was also joined by 2 other judges in that ruling. And the subsequent Supreme Court ruling that overturned it was very close, 5-4.
I would hate to see this one incident pinned down on one individual, when there were others involved.

She’s had other cases that have been reversed, and she believes that policy is made at the appeals level. This leads me to believe she’s grossly underqualified to become a Supreme Court Judge.
