Today i was reading the paper from back there in the Wonderful city of Fredericksburg, and Saw where Stafford Cops Shot a man in the back as he walked away from them.

witnesses say the man was holding a gun but never pointed it. He just turned and walked away. YEA.... real hostile act retards.

"The neighbor, Jordan von Schwanitz, said Gandy never made a threatening gesture with the gun and was heading into his home when he was shot from behind."

Sounds like a case of Poorly Trained donut eaters, who know nothing about the rules of engagement.

Im sure the local ROTC programs have some teens who would be more qualified for the job.

And to any stafford cops reading this............. Did u have fun tryin to pull that motorcycle over?? LOL looser.

Stick to the donut shops fellas.

if you would like to read more about our fine officers in stafford County.... heres the story......................

Investigation likely to last at least several more days, police say

Date published: 7/2/2008

BY KEITH EPPS

Stafford County sheriff’s officials yesterday again declined to discuss allegations that one of their deputies acted improperly when he shot and killed a county resident late Sunday.

David C. Gandy, 48, was killed at his home on Myrtle Road in southern Stafford by one of the four deputies who responded to a call for assistance. Police have not named the deputy.

Sheriff’s Maj. David Decatur said yesterday that rather than answer allegations, his office would not comment further on the incident until the investigation is completed.

He said he anticipates that will take at least another couple of days.

The Sheriff’s Office is investigating the fatal shooting, along with the commonwealth’s attorney’s and state medical examiner’s offices.

Decatur said it is standard operating procedure for the Stafford department to investigate its own shootings rather than ask an outside agency to intercede.

Police went to the Gandy residence after receiving a call from Gandy’s son at 10:54 p.m.

According to an affidavit for a search warrant filed yesterday in Stafford Circuit Court, the son told a dispatcher that his father was upset about an argument that took place about two hours earlier and was threatening to shoot himself. Gandy had been drinking.

In a news release, police said deputies tried to incapacitate Gandy with Tasers, but were unsuccessful.

Police said he ignored orders to drop the handgun he was holding and was shot when he began raising the gun while looking in the direction of the deputies.

Gandy’s family and a neighbor who witnessed the incident strongly disputed the police account. They said police said nothing before opening fire.

The neighbor, Jordan von Schwanitz, said Gandy never made a threatening gesture with the gun and was heading into his home when he was shot from behind.

According to court records, police seized a number of items from the scene a couple of hours after the shooting, including some items that were left behind by the deputies.

The seized items included a .223-caliber assault rifle, a 9mm handgun, three .223 shell casings, three bullet fragments, a Taser cartridge and a Coors Light beer can.

guess he should have put the gun down the cops asked him to

Pretty much.

What if he had turned and started firing at the people standing around. Who would you blame then? Themselves for standing around and rubber-necking? The cops for not protecting them fast enough?

I wasn’t there, and apparently neither were you, so we can only speculate what happened from news clips, and accounts for civilians not trained to handle these circumstances.

I’m sure that these neighbors who are disputing the police reports were out there really paying close attention when some guy was out there with a gun in his hand and police had their guns drawn. They were probably hiding behind something fearing for their lives.

ok look people.....

There are rules of Engagement.

I know these rules... I live these rules, when I’m deployed.

Unless that gun is raised and motioned in your direction.... meaning its getting pointed in your direction, Your hands are tied. I cant tell you how many Iraqis Ive seen with guns, But Im sure If I had killed every single one of them, I would be looking at some prison time.

Rules of engagement were broke here, and thats the bottom line. They need pay for that shit.

This is a case of Poorly Trained Officers. Their entire chain of command should be fired.

You are back home now. Here we go by American rules. We are not under another governments rules. The police officers were not on foreign soil. The citizens of the US know that if they ignore the commands of the police with a gun in their hand, they are likely to get shot. I’m sure as hell not going to argue with the cops while they are pointing guns at me telling me to drop my weapon, and I’m sure not going to turn around and ignore them with the gun in my hand. They, knowing that I can possibly be going in the house to shoot someone after I obviously have no concern for the law by obeying officers pointing guns at me, would be right in shooting at me.

the only thing more insulting than calling me a democrat would be to call me a republican.

I agree with billy there, I firmly believe that you have the right to own guns, HOWEVER if you want to exercise your right to own a gun, then you are also obligated to use it properly and to obey any officer who tells you to put it down. If you are stupid enough to obey an order like that, then I sure as HELL hope that they shoot your dumb ass before you can shoot someone else.

This is now the one year anniversary of David Gandy’s death. Let’s please remember him and not forget the terrible injustice that was done here. Those who miss him have had a very tough year.
