I’ve tried to scan the boards and answer questions, but it has all gotten a bit ahead of me. I will try to answer questions off this thread when I can.

Bless you, Jon. I’ve been storing up a million of ’em. Most of which aren’t coming through now.

To everyone, make it easy on him, don’t bury your questions in huge paragraphs. Outline them.

1 - I remember hearing about super-secret filming at Fontana Speedway (California Speedway?) Was that true and what was shot there?

2 - What was it like working with Jeff Bridges?

3 - It seems clear now that one of the women on Stark’s arm at Caesar’s looked something like Hilary Swank, which could have fed rumors. But one of two original eyewitness accounts had Swank discussing SHIELD with Tony, (and mentioned that you were in the scene which proved to be true.)

Was Hilary Swank ever a part of the production? (No hard feelings about ’Swank accommodations’, promise :-D )

4 - Any good news on contract talks between you and Marvel yet?

5 - Do any of the cast and/or crew come by this group to look in?

6 - Have you seen The Incredible Hulk yet, and how is it?

I’ll be back. Thanks again!!!!

One question, Jon. If we give you story ideas, can you use and credit us in future movies?

1- We filmed the news footage that appears on the TV screen when Tony is firing his repulsor in the workshop.

2- He’s great. Everything that you would expect. He’s like a smarter, straighter version of the Dude. I was lucky to have met him. A great cartoonist as well.

3- Hilary Swank was never involved in any way.

4- It’s been five weeks since the one and only phone call my reps have gotten from Marvel. I know their hands are full with the Hulk and I’m sure they will get into it shortly, as they tell me they intend to. I ran into the Marvel guys at the Hulk premiere and everyone sounded eager to get to work on IM2.

I am concerned, however, about the announced release date of April 2010. Neither Robert nor I were consulted about this and we are both concerned about how realistic the date is in light of the fact that we have no script, story or even writers hired yet. This genre of movie is best when it is done thoughtfully and with plenty of preparation. It might be better to follow the BB/DK, X/X2 three year release pattern than to scramble for a date. It is difficult because there are no Marvel 09 releases and they need product, but I also think we owe it to the fans to have a great version of IM2 and, at this point, we would have less time to make it than the first one.

5- Not that I know of.

6- I saw it last night and it was a lot of fun. I think you’ll all enjoy it. It left me with a lot of questions about Shield and the Avengers. I don’t want to spoil it by getting too specific since it’s not out yet. I’m curious to hear how the fans interpret it all.

March seems unrealistic.

We had always hoped for the film to be well received, but we were all pleasantly surprised by how much business it has done.

Robert and I speak a lot and can’t wait to get started developing the script for IM2.

There is nothing to announce.

If you have any ideas to pitch, you should submit them directly to Marvel. This is a place for open discussion for fans.

I know that you’ve been reading up on the Iron man comics
and is hopping to Direct the Avengers movie
so it made me think
most of Tony’s main villains were russian communist
like Dynamic Dynamo, Titanium Man, Radioactive Man. and so on
pretty much all Propaganda villains for communism.

to stay up to times. and yet keep the original origin.
What villains would you like to personally see in the IM2 film?

Well ok.... this is separate from that question...

Will you don the suit or was that problem of the whole bodyguard of Stark being Iron Man at the end put down the idea of Happy being Iron Man for at least a few scenes in the future?

I appreciate any of your answers, thank you.

1- Are you looking to increase the size of the role that Happy Hogan had in the story for the next film(s) ?

2- I know you said that it would be hard to direct Avengers if it came out a year after Iron Man 2, but do you think that you may throw your hat in to be a producer ?

3- Do you have any villains in mind that you may want to bring to the screen in the next film(s) ? And if so, would you mind (or be allowed) to share a few with us ?

Was the War Machine toy that was released in Wal Mart stores designed after the War Machine rumor started from the image on the group?

I was thinking the same thing. Not only that but they are trying to just spit out Thor and Captain America movies and then expect soomeone to just tie it all together in about a year and make an Avengers movie!?!? C’mon...

Plus if they did want you to direct Avengers you would be fresh off the heels of Ironman 2 and thats just Bull if there going to drop two major projects on you in under a year! If they ask you to do that, i say tell them to shove it! >: /

Also, just thinking here but Obidiah had a son who makes for a pretty decent villian in the new Invincible Ironman comics. I think it makes for a great revenge plot. You should check em’ out :P

I think they would need to be updated, as is the case with the Mandarin.

Russia and China are still extremely fertile politically, albiet different, and I have many ideas as how to utilize today’s headlines as they speak to IM’s classic villians.

Which of Iron Man’s armored villains do you find to be most compelling, and why?

Also, what are the chances of seeing Justin Hammer in an Iron Man film, considering he and Obadiah have essentially the same function.
