Seeing as how not everyone gets into the broadcasting field after they graduate from Specs, whether because of timing, availability, whatever our reasons may be for not pursuing the broadcasting life, what are you doing instead? Anyone stick to something close to the communications field or did you go the complete opposite direction and decide to do something else?

I have entered the construction field, I am on the telecommunications side of the electrical workers union. It’s a pretty cool job and I get to do something that is kind of close to broadcasting. I have found that a few of the guys that I have worked with have attended Specs Howard in the past. They actually had a more technical class where they learned how to make the BNC connectors and stuff like that more electronic based. They learned more of what is going on inside of the equipment instead of what happens behind or infront of.

So what I do is the wiring for sound systems, voice, data, security, and stuff like that...maybe one day I will build a radio or TV station. Right now I am at Motorcity Casino building the new theatre.

I upfit Police cars now... lights, sirens, cage, camera, radar, decals etc... Random, I know.

Still doing freelance video work though. I was just at a point where I couldn’t afford to work part time for $7 an hour up north. I needed a full time 50 hour week job to pay for living you know? Slowly but surely I’m getting to where I need to be with my video "career". It’ll just take more time than I wanted it to.
