Alright, so awhile back I was reading The Bible and I actually came across a passage that talked about an unforgivable sin, no its not Murder or suicide, like some people might think.

Its actually something called Blasphemy Of the Holy Spirit, now I’d like to know what people definition of that is, because that kinda threw me for a loop, I don’t really understand what it is. Ed, maybe you can enlighten me?

Basically it means "taking the Lord’s name in vain." Like when someone says, "Gosh darn, "but you know what I mean.

Main Entry: blas·phe·my
Pronunciation: ..ˈblas-fə-mē..
Function: noun
Inflected Form(s): plural blas·phe·mies
Date: 13th century
1 a: the act of insulting or showing contempt or lack of reverence for God b: the act of claiming the attributes of deity
2: irreverence toward something considered sacred or inviolable

Alright, but people do that all the time, so how can it be unforgivable, there got to be more to it, then that.

I don’t think using the lords name in vain is unforgivable

There is a song where the lead singer says that if he was God. Here is the line. "Would I be a good Messiah with my low self-esteem, If I dont believe in myself, would that be blasphemy?"
I think that Blasphemy is not believing that God is the Almighty and Jesus is the Savior of Man.

Yes, but what makes it unforgivable?

Wow, been awhile since I’ve been on here, I think what would make it unforgivable, would be Aknowledging the existance of God and the Holy spirit, know thing that there real, but choosing to not belive them, choosing to give god the cold shoulder, even though you know for a fact he’s real.

I think that would be Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, and if these people died with this on there hearts, it would be unforgivable.
