With the state budget in terrible shape, there is a strong possiblity that state support for the arts will see cutbacks. If we say that support for individual artists is important (and we do) then we need to look at the grants that RISCA awards and ask the question: "do these grants make a difference?"

If you search MySpace you’ll find a number of pages from individual artists who have received RISCA grants. So let’s direct the question to you: have they been a help to you in your work as an artist? And what might have been more help?
