Let us know about you and your research. What part of the shire were your ancestors from? Where did they move to?

My name is Paul Ellis and I was born in the Meadows area of Nottingham in 1957. This was the Meadows before the demolitions of the 1970’s when there was a shop on nearly every street corner and houses rarely had a bathroom.
I have been researching my family history for nearly 10 years and have traced the family name almost back to the 17th century. Apart from a few jaunts to London and Yorkshire the family seem to have remained in Nottinghamshire.
I’m currently researching the service records of my grandfather and his brother from World War 1.
