The leadership of ACDA-PA is planning a fabulous
summer conference at Penn State University in State
College, PA. Based around the theme of “Building
Bridges, Creating Community,” we have contracted four
outstanding headliners who promise to provide us with a
conference that is sure to be one of the must-attend
events of the year!
We want our conference attendees to break the mold
of their “titles” and expand their horizons by being
musicians first. With that in mind we are planning
plenary sessions, interest sessions, and reading sessions
that do not fall into the traditional categories often
found at choral conventions. By interacting with
directors of varying ensembles, we hope to build a
community of choral musicians who share a common
bond.
This year’s highlights include:
• Student-Director Honor Choir
• MS/JR High Honor Choir
• Directors Chorus
• Directors Choral Masterpiece Sing-a-long
• 8 great reading sessions
• A variety of timely and significant interest sessions
• 2 dinners, 2 breakfasts and an ice-cream sundae party
Based on the success of last summer’s conference, the
registration fee is almost all-inclusive. What’s more, by
planning to stay at the Nittany Lion Inn, you never have
to worry about parking (or paying for parking!). And it’s
just a short five-minute walk to the main events.
