My name is Fay James, Content Editor for 4Laughs and I am looking for aspiring comedy writers to enter into this fantastic competition!

Every month 4Laughs run competitions to encourage people to get involved in comedy and to offer a step up into the industry. This month we are giving you the chance to have you work published in the national comedy magazine, Mustard.

You don’t have to be Graham Linehan or a Chris Morris to get involved, just a few good ideas and a bit of enthusiasm!

Mustard magazine is looking for new content for their latest issue and they want you to create it!

Mustard is an indie comedy magazine, jam-packed with new comedy stuff (satirical news stories, film/book/mag parodies, comic strips, cartoons, etc.) plus exclusive interviews with comedy icons like Graham Linehan and Michael Palin.

As an independent magazine, Mustard is published by the people who make it, not by a company. All the writers and artists work on Mustard for free, but each contributor retains the copyright to their individual work.

So if you want your work to grace the pages of this quirky comedy magazine, then look through the Window of Opportunity!

Don’t forget, Mustard is photocopied in front of a live studio audience!




THE BRIEF
We want you to write short (10-20 word) spoof Classified ad’s covering; For Sale/Wanted, Lonely Hearts and Job Adverts. See example classifieds from Mustard issue 02 http://www.mustardweb.org/02/classifieds.htm (copy and paste into your browser)

SUBMISSIONS
Email your entries to 4Laughs@channel4.com with the title Mustard.
There is no limit to how many Classified Ads you enter.

DEADLINE
9 am Wednesday 16 April

PRIZE
Editor, Alex Musson, will choose his favourite spoof advertisements to be published in the 3rd Mustard issue. Alex will choose the overall winner and commission them to write a satirical news article to feature in the 4th Mustard issue.
