Attention sociology undergrads:

I will be returning from New York to teach a class on Mass Media and society starting July 22nd this summer!

A main objective of this class is to use a sociological lens to take a critical look at the structure and content of the U.S. mass media.

One central question drives this whole course, for which we will seek preliminary conclusions throughout the term: If true democracy requires an informed and engaged populace, and most people receive their information about the world via mass communication, what is the effect of the mass media on the functioning of our democracy?

This should be a very fun class and is really a class designed for the structure of summer, rather than a regular class restructured to fit into a summer schedule.

Sign up and move one step closer to graduation while simultaneously joining in a critical discussion of the united states media!

Ten are signed up already! Plenty of room for anyone else interested in analyzing our media with a sociological lens.

The more... the merrier the discussions!
