how about a replica of a previous work. for example my ap english class read Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad and had to do a version of our own. Nothing too strict, just simply using the same plot format.

a writing contest. with guidelines.
like a situation for example "theres a women in an airport and someone confronts her.. make a story out of it" and genre guidelines too!

I think you should provide more ways to get advice from authors, so we can directly ask questions and get inspiration.
& another writing contest would be great to. But one with more guidelines.

ANOTHER CONTEST WOULD BE GREAT. BUT INSTEAD OF THE AUTHORS JUDGING MAYBE WE SHOULD LEAVE IT UP TO THE MYSPACERS. AND YOU CAN ONLY ENTER ONE PIECE OF MATERIAL.

another writing contest. or the jacket cover thing is cool too. i missed the last one. technical issues >.< but for the writing contest you should have more guidelines than a short story or poetry. like be genre specific or have a prompt. i'm not a big fan of prompts, but the genre specific thing would be cool.
