The first season of Boondocks was as genius as McGruder's comic strip, especially "A date with the Health Inspector". I feel the second season lacks the genius satire elements of the first season and it just jokes for people to laugh at. The very first episode was absolutely random(sneaking into the theatre). Every episode of the first season and world reflective meaning. Usher took Tom's girl...yeah...funny....interesting...no. The "No Snitching" and "Thugnificient" episodes had more flavor, just nothing like season one.

I agree completely with the thread starter.
It's funny, Huey's getting fewer and fewer lines.
He's supposed to be the voice of reason.
"You try to help out black people, because they are still YOUR people."
This show, to me, is just re-enforcing stereotypes now.
There's no real satirical, message now.
Still funny though.
I wonder how this show will end up.

i gotta agree with the topic starter.
personally i'm down with the second season and all but it doesn't get on social issues like the first one.
and like the other dude said, my man huey has less lines in this season and his role has definitely diminished.
he speaks the deep thoughts that niggas need to hear that the first season was all about. second season is good but bring back the classics

whatever dude, it a show that's meant to entertain the demographic it appeals to. who cares if aaron mcgrudgers's a sellout? the shows still funny. the only episode i really looked at as funny was in the first episode of season 1 when in the end they had to white's talking amongst themselves quoted saying "...i think it's ok when they say it" which made me smirk. other than that it's whatever.
"whatever.........whatever"......that's the kind shizit that needs a Vocal Huey Newton in it's ear..."Kno wud I mean?!"

i definitely agree with the topic starter as i was saying to my boy the other day the show has gotten way more vulgar as a result it might turn away new viewers who where expecting to see wut all the fuss was about from last season its still funny tho but to truly shine i think it needs that underlying message from season 1

I think the show still does have messages, Aaron's basicly showing how the black culture really is, like in the thugnifficent episode it shows how kids strive to be like rappers, beating up old men b'cuz thugnifficent does it. Also in the first episode it had riley bootleggin the movie which most black people do, and the whole no snitchin episode that was pretty obvious wut the message was there.

I swear ya'll always find something to complain about. I loved Season 1 just as much as I love what I've seen of Season 2. Damn, the season isn't even HALF way over and already you're criticizing it. There's been like what? 4 episodes?

Complaint and observation two very distinct words.
good line from Boondocks but my pal Remy "You can't criticize a robbery(war) until it's over"................hahahaha so pricless!
I wonder how many really saw the every moment genius in that episode....xbox killer/osama, beer/oil, scared cop Frank/scared America....and it goes on!!!
