Konami’s music games can be tons of fun when played with a bunch of friends in the same room, but they also have great online and single-player experiences. What’s your favorite way to play: Playing with friends online, in person, or do you prefer to rock out by yourself?

Usually when I hit arcades; it’s a terrific social medium. And expert-level charts are a totally different experience on solid pads.
When I hit it at home, it’s mostly for refining my timing, or tinkering with edits (which friends and I copy/trade PS2 edit libraries) and courses.
I play no-bar, moderate-to-high level heavy/expert charts, though I love the kind with actual depth and showoff potential to them. CANDY*, TRIP MACHINE CLIMAX, and BREVK DOWN! are terrific examples, though I have a soft spot for streamy and/or skippy charts too (like INNOCENCE OF SILENCE, MONDO STREET, Last Message, etc.).
Also, I really love the songs and charts I’ve played on the Universe series, too; and I like the direction it’s been going in, lately. I just hope some of the really good songs/charts can be arcade-ported someday. 777 instantly stuck in my head, along with sakura storm, dirty digital, and Anthema.
