Help A Financially Needy High School Student Go To College
If you would be interested in helping a financially needy high school graduating senior student go to college this year, this is a challenge designed to raise funds for the
Hazel Harvey Peace Scholarship Fund and the various programs that support education and educators.
A couple of state programs are the
Educational Awareness Tour (EAT) and the
Leaders Are Readers Program.
The
Educational Awareness Tour takes personalities, business owners, past and current athletes into schools instilling hope, motivating, and emphasizing the importance of education regardless of status or wealth.
The
Leaders Are Readers Program puts everyone in the educational system into action, not just words. In this particular program, students, parents, teachers, principals, superintendents and mayors are required to read a recommended number of books and compete at certain levels after which a state champion is crowned.
The challenge takes place between students/parents combinations, teachers, schools, ISD's and the cities. Sales of t-shirts are available online, and individuals are able to purchase t-shirts to support a student or teacher.
To purchase t-shirts online, please go to
The Ultimate T-Shirt Challenge website and click on the
"Buy A Shirt" link at the top of the page to review ten different t-shirt designs.
Special Note: When you are ready to make your purchase to show your support for this worthwhile state effort, you will need to provide a special confirmation number, which is
LOVEA55591.
In advance, thank you for assisting and participating in this very worthy cause for financially needy graduating high school senior students who may not otherwise have an opportunity to go to college.
