We know that games aren’t just the domain of the hardcore anymore – normal people play games too! Black Beta is all about chilling out with a few free drinks, cool DJs and exclusive previews of the hottest games in Australia.

Did we mention there’ll also be plenty of prizes and giveaways at the event? We hope to see you at our debut event – but get in quick, because numbers are limited!

A bit late now that multiple other states have participated in the event and won tickets in NSW that they can’t get to.

Why no mention of state anywhere on the site?

Leading to both 1. An empty event on your behalf
2. Many more RSVPs from other states (instead of limiting to NSW) which can’t practically ’win’ but still pay to RSVP

In regards to your post johnny i would have to say the main reason that perhaps BB is not in other states is that the whole of the IGN AU Crew reside in Sydney NSW hence not having the ability to hold the event in other states...

Also the fact that in the venue that the BB is held in IGN and/or the sponsors of the particular BB create a bar tab of sometimes $2000 or $3000 or more/less for drinks in which inclue tap beer, wine, champagne and soft drinks and that depletes very quickly..

So on top of needing to pay to rent out the venu and having a bar tab it is also numbers to hold the event.. They need to be there in person make sure all goes well draw the prizes and cover the event...

The difference with Black Curtain is that it’s one cinema showing the movie with only security guards needed and 2 patrons to check tickets there are no special prizes nor bar tabs or free popcorn/drinks..

And my best bet would be that these are only a few of the reasons only NSW have the BB.. Plus not every game they do has a great following so another thing would be the turn out.. If they hold it in other states perhaps the night may not get the numbers expected..
