I don't know what is up with MySpace, but much of the material in this group is missing - which I just discovered when I went searching for the formerly pinned topic that was meant for poetry and creative writing. This is just ONE of the many reasons that I started my own website (again: http://www.newagevision.com).

So I am RESTARTING the poetry thread. Please feel free to utilize it to your own joy.

ALSO - in my perusal of the group, I notice that there are not only threads missing, but also that there are those who feel they may pin and unpin topics to their own liking. I would greatly prefer that this NOT be done. I pin certain topics because they are of universal interest - references, intros, and the like. *I* will do the pinning and unpinning, thank you very much.

:)

Ride the Wave

Life’s ebb and flow
Is a motion unto renewal
As we feel the extremes
In a notion of life that is dual

We haven’t the certainty
Of unhindered sight
While we toil through a darkness
That is but a breath from the Light

We seek for the answers
When we feel lost on the tide
Forgetting our purpose is
To experience the ride

All is so desperate
When we seek from without
We sink ‘neath the waves
When we embrace the doubt

Belief is to see
Let all fear fall away
Knowing the night
Always gives way to day

In the midst of confusion
When we feel wrought with pain
We must open our hearts
To what’s there to gain

We are not what we see
We are ever much more
And we mustn’t lose sight
Of that light on the shore

Life’s but a wave
That comes then it goes
It’s sunk to its depths
But then again rose

We sail on this sea
For but a moment, in time
Let each breath be a prayer
A miracle sublime

The sea rushes in to erase
The name I have scratched in the sand
And I recall I am Eternal in this
Ever temporary span

Diamonds in the Rough

We each have such potential
Awaiting our opening mind
A hope that transcends all our worry
A treasure we all seek to find

We learn from some others
That we have limits and miens
But that sense of ourselves
Is not all that it seems

We are angels without wings
As we tread Time’s great plain
We are masters disguised
While we toil as we deign

Hope is a mainstay
It tempers our being
It is our anchor, our lifeline
It heals and is freeing

Sometimes we look in the mirror
And don’t like what we see
Yet it’s a distorted image
Of what we can be

We are gems in the mining
Awaiting the One
Who will shine all our facets
When the grinding is done

So don’t seek the matrix
When mining the stone
We all sparkle like diamonds
When the Light’s on us shone

Efforts

She’s alone once again
In her wakening hour
Seeking to regain
Her withering power

And she sighs, she tries, she cries

To hold to the truth
Of her shuddering core
That once it’s regained
She will sway from no more

He’s amongst all the shadows
In the lengthening night
Seeking to reclaim
The beckoning light

And he lies, he denies

That the darkness is
Hiding within his deep thought
And the shadow’s himself
Against whom he’s fought

We seek to begin
On a road that’s defined
Where the souls we encounter
Are loving and kind

And we fly, watch the sky, ‘fore we die

To know for ourselves
Of a truth that’s our own
Where we find we’re connected
And never alone

Quirin, Your poetry is inspiring!
Here is a poem I wrote a couple of days ago.

Quan Yin Garden by Sue

Kwan Yin

Maypole spin of light

in Kwan Yin garden

Lights the being

spinning top pyramid

of pure compassion

unites all spirit

with central sun

beyond duality

beyond blame or theology

spinning upward

twiriling ribbon spirits

touch the violet flame

like dervishes dancing

and spinning downward

all is washed

through a glowing waterfall

cleansed into Earth's core

beauty rides

all resides

in compassion

one with light

Thank you, Sue and I am the Oneness for your kind words! Poetry used to be one of my most valuable outlets for the thoughts I couldn't seem to express any other way. I am attempting to regain that skill, as I have a lot more to express now than I did the 25 years ago when I was a more active poet! :)

And thank you, Sue, for sharing a piece of your own! I think poetry touches a deep part of us that common words can not reach. I am so thrilled to have others enjoy and participate in this section of the group!

here is one i wrote yesterday called "immortal like the sand":

a billion grains of sand

were once a granite block

my soul climbed you

when it was young

and now i walk barefoot

by water’s edge

being fully myself

immortal like the sand

Inspired by this quote found in a friend’s status, and a "strong heart" sent by another friend in the iHeart app. on Facebook. I have a feeling many of us are learning about our strong hearts - how strong they really are. <3

"Courage is the ability to reclaim vulnerability to trigger renewal through intimacy after having been hardened by abuse, oppression & shame."

STRONG HEARTS

We have strong hearts
None can defeat the Love that we flow
We are strong hearts
No one can divert that which we know

Life and its hills and valleys
Its byways and highways
Unto loss and pain
Up, up upon that mountain
At the pinnacle is the treasure
We strive to gain

Others will undermine by
Conscious deed or not
Seize and shake us
They will come and go
Like mists in the night
Indistinct, they cannot break us

We have strong hearts
They can’t till the garden that we grow
We are strong hearts
We shall not be brought below

Magic is what you make it
It is or is not as you deem it to be
Life can be the dream as you fake it
It need not be as you seem it to be

We have strong hearts
We radiate, we glow
We are strong hearts
We are the truth that we live
And the Love that we show

A poem in process, perhaps. Or maybe it is fine as it is. :)

Can we touch Heaven’s door with a wave of our hand
Is Destiny but our magic beast to command
Can we remember the memory lost to an Age
Or will we be left to this lack of presence onstage
Can we reach toward a future that is ripe with new dreams
Or will we cower in fright from the shadows that seem
Can we dance with the Maker and find the rhythm that leads .
Or will we only discover that which makes our souls bleed

Do we see our potential in the hope we inspire
Or do we miss how our thought and our action conspire
Do we sense our true nature in the thrust of our power
Or does our glory shine best in our quietest hour
Do we understand the garden of Love that we sow
With every new seedling of care we bestow
Do we know of the souls that we touch and we heal
When we truly BECOME the Love that we feel?
