Dear Community,

The Heads Up Awareness Program is a new organization launched in early November bringing youngsters together within the community and providing service opportunities. Parents are encouraged to participate with their children. Our first event was a Crescent Beach clean up, featured in the Our Town section of the Sunday, December 2, Staten Island Advance.You can read the article at this link:

This next event set for December 15 at the Blue Heron Nature Center is in recognition of our troops. We will be writing letters, making holiday cards, and decorations to send overseas to our soldiers. This is a free event and we will be providing the necessary supplies.

We welcome any teachers or group leaders interested in doing this as a class/group project and would be happy to include these projects in our shipment. Please call 718-702-7700 for further information and/or to arrange for pick up. Note the deadline for this is Friday, December 14.

Help us spread cheer to our friends and family not with us for this holiday season.
