Meaning of Life Issues

The root causes of depression invariably revolve around "Meaning of Life Issues" that is more often than not completely overlooked when addressing a persons depression.

They are in fact central to a full recovery!

Native American's call it "Finding Your Center", Eastern Mystics refer to it as a process of "Purifying the Heart". Buddhists explain it as a "Balance between Ying and Yang, Body and Soul.", Kabbalahism, talks about "Navigating Between the Physical and Metaphysical Worlds".

Scientists have attempted to remove this component because they can not quantify it, study it or understand it within the limitations of their minds. Spirituality is not within their area of expertise. Their attempts to undermine and discredit spirituality has ended in dismal failure. Moreover, the scientific approach focused on eliminating and discrediting spirituality is the root cause for the enormous increase of depression in the Western worlds. In fact, the field of human science is nothing more than a religion unto itself that preaches self as your center. Self (ego and mind) is not your center, your heart is your center. Spirituality is your center. Without it, you should feel depressed - how else will you know you are on the wrong path?

Spirituality, not to be confused with Religion, must be nurtured and exercised as does the body and mind. A weakened spirit, as with a weakened body or mind, is susceptible to illness.

Treatments that address the body and mind, ignoring the greater spiritual component, will always end in failure. Body and mind are the wings of the bird, without the spiritual tail you can not fly - destined to crash.

Spiritual understanding which enables someone to address these important issues can not be obtained through university teachings. Spiritually rooted problems require someone trained in areas of spirituality. If the medical community were able to address these critical issues, rates of depression would be declining not increasing. They are not capable - it is not their field of expertise. Admitting that would mean loosing their share of what has become a multi-billion dollar industry.
