There’s a brand new fan group for Lea DeLaria on MySpace, which is also her FIRST fan group on MySpace. It’s called the Lea DeLaria Jazz Group, although it welcomes all of Lea’s friends and fans of her work in comedy, theater, film, television and civil rights advocacy. Just go to MySpace Groups and do a keyword search on her name to find the group. Its URL is http://groups.myspace.com/LeaDelariaJazz.

We can already count among our first members stand-up comics Kate Clinton and Dave Attell (who calls Lea “the hardest working black man in show business”), jazz artist Seamus Blake (who will be recording with Lea on her new live jazz CD this weekend), and the Lesbian Mafia. (Not bad!)

One of Lea’s goals is to foster an appreciation of bebop jazz within the LGBT community, and she’s been doing an excellent job of it so far. This woman can really SING…and SWING!

Lea's associates are in the process of setting up a MySpace page for her that will hopefully be up and running soon. In the meantime, the Lea DeLaria Jazz Group will provide a forum for Lea's fans to meet and discuss her music and latest goings-on.
