Before the Anaheim "fans" jump in here, Ken Holland (the G.M.) isn't done yet. Even with the team we have now, we will still be really good, maybe not last year good, but good. We lost Lang, Calder, Bootland, Bertuzzi, and Schneider. Schneider leaving is offset by getting Rafalski, who's basically Schneider 5 years ago. He'll be a huge help. We're fine here. Lang never played well for the Wings. He hated being second fiddle to Datsyuk. Fillipula is going to fill his spot. Maybe not an even trade, but it's smarter cost wise. Bertuzzi was damaged goods. He isn't worth what Anaheim is paying him. Igor Grigorenko is coming from Russia (finally!) and he may only need a month or so to adjust to the NHL. He's going to be GOOD. Booter never got a chance, but that also means that he can lose fights for the Isle now, instead of the the Wings. Calder was good for the first 7 games, then declined steadily. He didn't even play against Anaheim. Don't be too worried, wait and see. Don't worry about St. Louis or the Hawks. Both those teams have bad goaltending, and putting a diamond on poo doesn't make it better. Anaheim will be good, but if either Selanne or Niedermayer come back, their screwed because of the cap. They'd have to dump salary, and Dustin Penner would look good in Red and White.

Before you post and bash the Wings, please be original. Don't say they are old, because this season they aren't going to be. Don't say Hasek sucks, because he is still a good goalie (as long a Jerome Iginla isn't around the crease) just look at his numbers. They don't lie. Don't crack on Detroit as a city, because I want all the cities that have had a riot in the last 15 years to to stand up (that means YOU Anaheim, you are part of L.A.). If you are a hockey fan with something constructive to add, please do. Don't just come here and be obnoxious.

i agree but then i dont and i dont agree with wut holland said when he said it is rebuilding time cuz i believe we just need a big name free agent which now r all pretty much taken up and we lost markov now to so were like a rookie team on defense except rafalski lidstrom chelios.... did u gyus hear the rumors that the wings r looking to get federov back i like him and all but i dont want him back and its not cuz he left or anything its cuz hes always injured now hes not like how he use to be but yea i dont think the team the wings have now will make it to the cup theyll make playoffs but they wont make the cup i dont think

MAN WTF!!!. u kno the wings are the best franchise of this time, i checked ur profile and it seems ur a Ducks fan. The Ducks suck everyone knows it that isnt a ducks fan. They bought there team last year and they play dirty. I also saw that u had candiens on there, i respect the canadiens cause they have one the most cups in the nhl. However they do not have the team 2 win the cup this year. The wings r the best team of this decade and last decade hands down.
