I'm not sure it could be done! :-) Maybe we could all list our top 5 or 10 biggest influences?

Ok, let's see. I started as a die-hard "Kaufmanite", but didn't really know what flatpicking was. Then, I discovered Tony Rice, Doc Watson and Brad Bulla. A workshop with David Grier helped me to expand my horizons, but most of my straight bluegrass picking came from listening to Luke Bulla, Bryan Sutton and Clay Hess. These days I listen a lot to acoustic guitarists outside the "Normal" BG realm: Pat Flynn, Jerry Garcia, Phil Keaggy, Tommy Emmanuel, etc.

I would have to start with Tony Rice, followed by Travis Alltop, Clay Jones, Kenny Smith, and here is the big surprise, Dan Tyminski. Bryan Sutton is in there somewherel. Jed Cordwell

Check out our guitarist Luke Turasky. He is the best flatpicker in Illinois!

Maybe the best in Springfield. There’s some hot flatpickers in Chicago.
