Perhaps, first of all, I should define my terms… as far as I’m concerned the meaning of the terms secular, humanism and esoteric are as follows:
Secular relates to worldly or temporal concerns (knowledge of the actual and the possible) as opposed to religious or supernatural concerns (belief in the divine and the impossible)
Humanism is a philosophy, attitude, or way of life centered on human interests and values, it stresses humanitarian concerns and an individual’s dignity, worth and capacity for self-realization through reason rather than religious supernaturalism.
Esoteric simply means of, or relating to, knowledge known only to a select few… the vital point of which is that it is about knowledge and not belief.
I see the Priory of Universal Truth as a sounding board for theories regarding the nature and significance (if there is any significance at all) of humanity, life and the universe. We need to explore the possibility of truth and to do that I feel you need an open mind to subjective matters that might not be intrinsically true… but then again they might be – so as long as they are still considered theoretically possible - that makes them worth studying.

Apologies for the spelling error in the title of this Topic. It should of course read: Combining the 'esoteric' with secular humanism!
