The time has come for us to all move in!
The new list runs off of the Python engine and Mailman GNU. This is the same engine powering Psychonaut Lib.
First things first, you may now access the Sumerland list and resource home page run by Beth at http://www.sumerland.net

It is up and running and the servers appear to have leveled out.
This list is purely email. You can see archives on the web once you sign up (click archives and then click the *thread* link) but can NOT post directly to the list from the archives. I'd suggest setting up a web based email account (google, hotmail, yahoo) for the list if you'd like to check your messages away from an email program. Digest mode is available, as well as a "no mail" option which I can set and you can read messages on the web (but not reply).

We will continue to exploit Myspace's copious storage facility to house pictures. All neph pictures, member pictures, etc... can be placed at:
http://groups.myspace.com/sumerland
At this moment the list will NOT be moderated but will likely go that way as numbers again grow as we've only seen issues from long term lack of moderation in the past. Everyone signing up in the next 24 hours or so we know fairly well, and we should have no issues with. But again please keep the conversation somewhat topical - or at least tangental during this phase. The list runs off of my private account and an excess of bandwidth usage (such as, "me too!" with an entire digest quoted) will cause my hosting company to possibly either restrict message frequency or else raise my costs. So be kind to both of us! ;)
