Has anyone here read a book titled The Moment of Astrology by Geoffrey Cornelius? It is this really good book on the subject of the philosophy of astrology. At one point Rob Hand called it the single most important work in the 20th century in that regards.

I always meant to start some sort of book club here on the HA group were we all read and discussed interesting books. Maybe we could start that now if anyone is up for it. All you have to do is obtain a copy of the book, read it, and then share your thoughts on it. You can find some pretty cheap used copies of the book through online retailers such as Amazon.

I would love to do a book discussion thread, and would definately order the book if we are going to do this.
*too cool... an inner book junkie fix, and philosophical no less? "Happy Happy Joy Joy"*

I might suggest that you bookmark this thread then Chris, so that it doesn't get lost considering that it would take a week or so to get the book for a lot of people.

A book club sounds fantastic! At what rate would books be read/discussed?

I am partial to http://www.bn.com
*the bookstore at my daughter's University is associated with them, and they let her use my membership card on her books... gotta love it.

Alright, thats what we will do then. I will pin the topic and we will give everyone a couple of weeks to get the book and then we can start talking about it in like 2 weeks or so. Maybe we will do the next one in a month and a half or something?

There is a new edition of the moment of astrology that was just published a year or two ago, and the original edition was published in 1994. The 1994 edition is probably a bit cheaper at this point if you can find it used. I don't think that it really matters which edition you get, but everyone should try to make an effort to get it because it is a really deep and thought provoking book, and it could make for some interesting discussions.

Good idea. Though I wish the local public library had a better selection of Astrology books - it's pitiful. Same with any Barnes and Noble. it's a shame. all sun sign or dating astrology books.

I'm pretty broke so borrowing books works better for me than buying them... I should see how I can get more Astrology books into the library system.

I guess I'm in too since books are my worst addiction. However, I must admit that I haven't read the Cornelius book (yet) so I will not be much use in this discussion.

You should just borrow it from the Kepler library and start reading it in your spare time Roland. I know that they have a copy because I checked one out from the library when I first read the book.

Sometimes you can get lucky and you will find a copy of this book at some libraries. I was surprised to find one at the Seattle public library a couple of years ago. You might try checking to see if any local universities in your area have a copy as well.

Yeah, I remember when you checked it out. Right now I'm reading everything I can about Medical Astrology but I will try to get to it as soon as I finish the stack of books I'm currently going through.
