I live in Kent and have been on a ladies charity league for three years.I'm captain for a third season and am having to watch the game i love disappear before my eyes.Last summer season we had 20 teams in 2 divisions, this year we only have 13.Gastro style pubs are taking over, and for several teams i know the smoking ban on july the 1st is just going to be an unwanted menace.Has anyone got any ideas on how to get new/younger players interested in the game.I'm only 29 but the average age in my team(including my subs)is 60-something.One of my ladies also died on wednesday morning. We need to start a darts revival somehow!

i'm very sorry to hear that you have trouble getting younger players up there.down here in somerset we have young talent coming up all the time. i'm only 25 and am the captain of the team in my local pub, the average age in the team is about 20-30 so we are very lucky with that. there are some teams here that play 16 year olds and believe me they are getting better all the time.
i'm not sure how to get younger players to play if they aren't interested. maybe put up flyers and add's calling for the youth to come and try out. you could also try getting a professoinal darter to do a demonstratoin nite and see if that will help.
anyway good luck and hope it all picks up for you guys soon!
