Tutorial by Jesse
This is a simple tutorial that will help you put a flash profile on your page. If you have problems with this go back and read the WHOLE thing.
First off put this css coding in your About Me section:
< style type="text/css">
table, tr, td {background:transparent;} table table table table, table.contactTable {display:none;} td.text table{.;}.nametext, .whitetext12, .orangetext15 {display:none;}div table td font {display: none;}body {background-color:color here;} td.text table table{display:inline;visibility:visible;}table, td{border-width:0px;}.byebye{display:none;}
</style>
so the break down (read all)...
table, tr, td {background:transparent;}
--this make the default white table become transparent and so you only see the body background
table table table table, table.contactTable {display:none;}
--pretty much hides most of the left column with the exception of the nametext and the headings
td.text table{.;display:none;}
--kills the right column completely
.nametext, .whitetext12 {display:none;}
--hides headings left over from left side (and headings from right side when we bring them back in a minute)
div table td font {display: none;}
--removes navigation bar and top links
body {background-color:color here;}
--just your basic body info goes here
td.text table table{display:inline;visibility:visible;}
--brings back the right column except blogs and extended network (this is so you can post the div and it show)
table, td{border-width:0px;}
--removes the border left from interests, details, organizations.. etc..
.byebye{display:none;}
-- the is a div class made simply to hide everything the browser reads after the who'd i'd like to meet section........
(if you have all other codes in it should hide friends, comments, and bottom links)
the way you use this is at the very bottom of your who'd i like to meet put the following:
<div class="byebye"><table><tr><td><table><tr><td>
remember now you can place divs in your pre-existing style sheet (which you should have put in your about me) like so....
.div1{
position: absolute;
left: 50%;
top:125px;
margin-left:-400px;
height: 800px;
width: 800px;
background-color:color here;
z-index:1;
}
and then put the content for the div in your Interests like so:
<div class="div1">
<center>
<embed allowScriptAccess="never" src="url to .swf file" wmode="transparent" menu="false" quality="high" width="XXX" height="XXX" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" PLUGINSPAGE="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer/"></embed>
</center>
</div>
Thank you for reading this tutorial. I hope you find it very helpful with your flash animations. For any help with this tutorial or questions, please post only in this forum thread.

if you actually look at his profile, you will see that he has some clear gifs positioned over it.

ah yea. well if he and any one else that views his profile uses IE, then he will see a big screw up with them, as I said in the "clear .gifs over flash" tutorial lol

Ok, I figure out how to replace the texts - I just used "find and replace". Man it's been too damn long since I've used flash!! I've been too busy with digital painting and my new tablet. ;)
Thanks again guys for your help.
A) When you are viewing imageshack with the swf on it. You do View Source and then find the URL that they have in the < embed> code. That will give you the correct URL to use.
B) You only need to use one .gif for your layout, you just put the height="" and width="" attributes in the image tags to re<myspace>size</myspace> it. clear .gif's over flash tutorial.
C) Read that tutorial and use the URL that is given in there for your .gif. The reason that only a place holder is showing up with your current clear .gif's is because that file URL on Fileden does no longer exist.

Before I create a flash profile for myspace, can anyone tell me the pros & cons?
e.g: Does taking away my info in the standard tables mean that I cannot be found easily on searches?
And will myspace pull my profile down when they discover it uses flash and hides their ad banners?
TIA.

this Hide Everything code does not work for band pages, only for regular profiles. If you want to know how to hide everything on a band page then look here
