LOOKING FOR CANCER PATIENTS & SURVIVORS
HEROES OF HOPE!
"There Is No Finish Line Until We Find A Cure...."In honor of your battle against cancer, we invite you and your caregiver to join us in celebration of your cancer survivorship by walking the first lap of the Relay For Life®. Friday, June 1, 2007 there will be a complimentary reception dinner for all survivors and caregivers. You will be given a Relay For Life Survivor T-Shirt as well. Your strength and courage are a personal testimony of the progress we are making in our fight against cancer. One person, hand in hand with another, can make a difference. We hope that after the reception you will stay and enjoy the festivities immediately following the Opening Ceremony with the Survivor Lap.
Each day, thousands of people learn that they or a loved one has cancer. In fact, during a 24 hour period, 3,655 Americans will be diagnosed with cancer. 1,524 Americans will lose their battle with cancer, and most excitingly, 2, 266 Americans will be considered CURED.
The struggle ahead is real and so is HOPE. We see and learn that there is life after cancer. In so many of those lives, we see people living in the moment, taking the time to laugh, to cry, to love, to feel and to just be.
That's what cancer does. It changes us, it tests our faith, it alters our perspective, it challenges our perspective, it challenges our strength and courage, Cancer reminds us that everyday is a gift.
We honor and celebrate the cancer survivors at Relay For Life. We celebrate HOPE. HOPE is something that survivors must find within themselves. With HOPE, we can find meaning in how we respond to what has happened to us. With HOPE, we can go on. The survivors are our HEROES. Heroes in the way they face daily struggles. Heroes in the way they do everything with an unbreakable spirit for life. They give us HOPE. They truly are HEROES OF HOPE!
