Way back in May, I remember we discussed horror comedies about mothers in honor of Mother's Day. For this holiday season, I was wondering if there are any films. I'll toss in one, Santa Claus Conquers the Martians.

We immediately thought of SCROOGED (1988), but the Santa movies are much better for holiday horror. Do you think there are enough to make it a sub-genre? What about the episode from TALES FROM THE CRYPT, we don't remember the name....

Coincidently another family favorite from '64 has Santa Claus hanging out with a monster. The tv classic, RUDOLPH, THE RED-NOSED REINDEER (1964), features an appearance by the abominable snowman.

The Bumble! I like the Bumble from those TV series. I think it have it on VHS.
I would think Scrooged would be a good comedy holiday horror flick. It may sound weird but I liked David Johnhansen (ghost of Christmas past - taxi driver)before I found out he used to front the NY Dolls.
For the unintentional humor people out there, Santa Vs. Satan I hear is a it's so bad it's good film. I haven't seen it yet, but will shortly.

For those who've not seen Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, many Target Stores have it in the dollar bin up at the front of the store this holiday season.
And we're showing it on our show tommorow night, the 16th.

I think "Gremlins" is right up there. Actually, it really scared me when I was small, especially the end.

It is a great show. I just had the chance to catch a glimpse of it.
I was recently told I put down the wrong title for a movie I recommended here "Santa Vs. Satan" is actually titled "Santa Claus." But it is in the same vain of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas, " which I'm surprised nobody has mentioned yet..... C'mon! Boris Karloff is the narrator of the original cartoon.
