This is not my engagement story, but I think it would be a wonderful way to propose! I've loved these cookies the moment I saw them. :) One of our bakeries makes these gorgeous Colossal Chocolate-dipped Fortune Cookies. They are nearly the size of a football! I think it would be wonderful to propose with one of those.
You can put your own text, up to 1 ft. long- a poem, short letter, pop the question in the fortune! lol It is beautiful! Plus, you can celebrate afterward with the chocolate-covered cookie! ;)

Me and Eddie went on our first real vacation together back in March of this year. we went on a 7 day cruise to the carribbian. thrue out the whole trip i told him that I loved him and his response was we will see. every night we would catch a show. and every show was a full house. half way into the cruse we went to the guest talent show. everything was normal, and then half way into the talent show there was a "raffle". the cruise director called out our stateroom. I was soo exited that we had won something. we went up on stage and the cruise director handed Eddie a little box. he got down on one knee and popped the question. I was speachless. specialy with all the lights on us and everyone cheering us on. for the rest of the cruise everyother person stoped us and asked us. arent you the couple that got engaged? congradulations! even people that dident go to the show cause it was taped and playing on the cruise cable.

It was unplanned, but he was prepared for it.
My fiance and I were in France - and before you say anything, we usually travel together, and I have been bugging him about France for the longest time.
He didn't think that proposing at the eiffel tower was creative, so, me being a history major and loving 18th century French history, he proposed at the Palace of Versailles.
The funny thing is he proposed in the gardens on the lake in a rowboat - the rowboat was my idea and I was the one rowing at the time, so basically I set myself up for it. It was spur of the moment and he wanted to surprise me. And I was surprised, onlookers in other boats around us were wondering why I was so happy randomly.
I couldn't ask for a better setting, or a more lovely day. Was just perfect =)

I was on vacation for the weekend with my mom and sisters and apparently they knew the whole time that my fiance was going to propose and they were whispering about it behind my back. =)
Anyway, my fiance knows that I love to scrapbook, so when I got home he gave me a new scrapbook that he said was from his mom. I said "Oh, that's really nice of her, she didn't have to do that, " and he kept suggesting we look at it, which I thought was really weird because I assumed it was empty. When I opened it there was a page that he made himself with a photo of him in a suit, holding the ring and grinning. The words "Will You Marry Me?" were stamped on the page and a small envelope held the ring,
They he said some long speech about how he wants to spend his life with me and stuff which, sadly, I don't remember much of because I was crying and totally shocked.
I just love that, while I knew he had already bought the ring, I was still surprised and that he really thought of a way to incorporate something I love to do. It was so thoughtful.

Christmas Eve we planned to go to Knott's Berry Farm for the Christmas celebration. It's a smaller place than Disney with smaller lines and more casual plus they serve alcohol!
AND it happens to be where he and I had our first date.
So at lunch we sat in the restaurant where we had our first date... had a few beers and lots of food.
He said "I love you." I said, "I love you too!" He said "how much?"
This is a game we often play so I invented some far out story about hijacking a UFO and writing "I LOVE RYAN" across the universe in the stars so EVERYONE could see.
So I asked "How much do you love me?"
He said, "A lot."
"LAME. No really... how much do you love me?" I asked.
He stood up, reached in his pocket, got on one knee and produced a big diamond ring and said, "I love you so much. Will you marry me?"
I was crying. I nodded. "YES!"
Slipped the ring on my finger. Got congratulated by the neighboring table and then ran outside to send cellphone pics of my ring to everyone on my list.
Then we took a picture at the Knott's picture center and left.
I still can't believe it.

Me and my fiance were on our one year anniversary trip in Myrtle Beach. He took me out on to the beach for a walk. While we were walking, he told me to stop and he turned around and popped the question. I love it!!

Hi everyone!
My story is quite long, so I will shorten in any way I can...
We first met in May, and I liked him instantly. But I had been a step mom before, and all I could think of, if anything did start for us...I would face possibly losing kids again, if it didn't work out. I ran from him until September...but he was a persistant fella!
Needless to say...sparks flew like crazy...and we started dating. That same year, a couple of months later, he kept asking if I had to work the day after Thanksgiving...I kept telling him no, but he kept asking?
Mom and I ran to town that day...and I was trying to hurry and get home, so that I could share some time alone with Brian... and she kept taking forever! Wanting to go down every isle of the store? Then she said, I forgot my watch? I was like, so? Let's go home!
We left town, and started our drive...right out of town, was a sign? Each letter written was a full size sheet of paper... it said, "Donna Will You Marry Me?" I was like MOM! did that say my name? She was a nervous wreck...half way home, there was another...still large as can be. Turned on our road, and another...on a barn! And then at home...another...on my house. I was a nervous wreck by that time...and said, "MOM! I need a drink! Come on..." ...she said "Are you sure you want me to?" With a funny look on her face..and I started dragging her to the house.
When I got to the door, I couldn't open it! All of a sudden it opened, Brian, dressed as a waiter. Towel draped across his arm, bowing toward me as a waiter does...asking me to come inside.
All of the lights were out, and candles lit everywhere...once in the kitchen, the meal was ready, with champagne chilling in the center of the flower petal covered table...
Mom apologized to Brian for coming in, told him I would not take no for an answer...he hugged her and thanked her for her help, and she left...
He got down on one knee...I was crying...he said those four magic words, and I said yes... He slipped a beautiful ring on my finger...We kissed..and there was a knock at the door. It was Mom...she was standing there with a funny look on her face...Her car wouldn't start! So we had to push it out of my drive, and she took my car home... lol
We went out and celebrated that night, and got married the following May. We have now been married for almost eight years. The kids are now 20 and 17...and doing very well.
Have a great day everyone!

Well lets see.. Allan told me he was going to propose on sept.23 since that was our anniversary. He said he was going to bring me to see beauty and the beast on broadway and take me on a horse carriage ride through central park like I wanted. But we were going away on an overnight trip to newport, RI because he was taking an NCIS test. Usually I don't go when he is going for interviews and such but since we could just drive there instead of flying I decided to go. He told me he got a room at the days inn but instead he got a room at castle hill inn.. which is this gorgeous Inn and the nicest place I had ever been to. When we got there, I bascially knew he was going to do it, but we went walking down to the beach along the trails and he got down on one knew when I was sitting on the jetti and popped the question =)

we met in college our freshmen year. i continued as a graduate student at the same school while he moved home to work 45 minutes away. he came to visit one night and we met on campus to get some dinner. he asked me to meet him in kind of a weird location but i didn't think much of it because it was right next to the dining hall. he took me over to this art piece surrounded by benches which just happens to be right in front of his old dorm. (needless to say we have tons of memories here.) he hugged and kissed me and picked me up, whirling me around. before i knew it, i was on the ground looking at him on one knee with the ring box out. he said "in front of the place i asked you to be my girlfriend, i wanted to ask you to be my wife. will you marry me?" i started to cry and said yes. it was perfect for us. :)
