Since this group is titled "Aesthetics of Decay and Neo-Decadence" I thought I'd propose a discussion about the need for the death aesthetic in today's society. It seems to me that modern society craves macabre images...this is basically expressed in the waves of schlockey horror films and sad, suicidal, melodramatic music that is currently the trend along with the video games that propose violence and destruction as something desired. I think there are multiple reasons for this taboo craving such as the sanitization of death, but I think this craving also goes much deeper, possibly into the psyche of human civilization itself...that humans need to see death up close and personal because of the human desire for self-destruction.

death is part of what life is, so unquestionable and spiritually close to self, makes every moment worthwile and fullfilled // however i don't think this aspect should be over-dramatized in one's expression unless the purpose is being loud // stuff subtly content with an idea of death feels deadly deep real tho
